Welcome to the Sam Houston Equestrian Center !

We are a full service equestrian facility. We offer year-round lessons for riders of all levels and ages. We also offer camps for children and teenagers during school holidays. You do not need to own a horse, a saddle or anything beyond jeans and boots. Our lesson horses and ponies include seasoned veterans for beginners and a wide range of high quality mounts for experienced riders. If you own a horse, we offer boarding as well as training services.

Our stables are located on 25 acres just 15 minutes south of downtown Houston on 288 near Beltway 8. Our facilities include a spacious covered arena so you do not have to worry about the weather. Attached to the arena is a large party room and we host pony parties for any special occasion. Check out the party pages under services for more details on what we have to offer. The news page has the latest stable happenings. We also create gift certificates if you're looking for that perfect present for a rider.

Learning to saddle at camp

Eating a good lunch at camp!

 Winning ribbons on Friday.

Kenneth celebrated his 53rd birthday riding Silver June 30th. Two years ago, it was unlikely that he would ever ride again. He suffered a heart attack and a stroke. He lost his left leg to diabetes. Now, with a prosthetic, he was able to mount and ride almost like old times. We hope that others read this inspirational message and realize that life can go on! And Life is better on horseback.

On WEDNESDAY Campers clean saddles and care for horses by picking their hooves.
